1) The metal sharps collection container should have
a leak-proof sliding metal bottom
2) The system should have an inbuilt mechanism for shredding
and hot air oven for Sterilization, which has digitally
controlled thermostatic system.
3) The residence time of the metal sharps at the Sterilization
unit should be 2 hr at 164°C
Operating
standards
The
standards mentioned in the Techanical Specification and
when no applicable standard is mentioned, to the authoritative
standard appropropriate to the goods and such standards,
shall be the greatest issued by the concerned insitution.
Equipment
Details:-
It
should be a compact system of dimensions 90x86x130 cm,
comprising of two units, shredder and Sterilization chambers.
A 3 HP motar should be used for rotation of two shafts
for shredding of metal sharps. Metal sharps include needles,
blades and scapels. The standard size of metal sharp collection
box should be 15 x 15 x 15 (cm). There should be two inputs
for electricity , one for the shredder and one for the
lizatiion chamber. The size of shredded waste would
be around 5±2 mm. This shredded waste will go for
Sterilization. The size of the Sterilization chamber should
be 33 x 14 x 9.5 (cm). The temperature of 160-180°C
should be achieved in this chamber . The temperature should
be contrOLLED by a digital system.
